Awning Windows
Hinged at the top, these versatile operable windows can be used in any room of the house. Awnings crank open, or push-out and stay put, usually to a maximum of around eight inches. You’ll want them over the top of large picture windows in rooms from which you wish to vent summer heat, under the bottom of large pictures windows when the view is to be emphasized, or alone in smaller openings. They complement casements because they present glass to the exterior. They differ from them because they are less of a sail, deflecting breezes where casements invite them in. In light rain, they are happy to be open. The insect screen is installed on the interior.
